  4. Nice! It’s especially nice to read an appraisal of your work after you’ve had time away from it, isn’t it, Diana? I find I’m often kinder to — more complimentary toward — my own work with distance from it.

Just left there, Diana! I’m way behind on my blog visits this week, but when I saw your name, I popped over right away, so I could tell Sally and all her friends how much I, too, loved this book. AND Raze. He’s still one of my favorite characters! Now I want to read it all over again. 😀 Congratulations on all the kudos, too. (Kudoses? Kudi? 😀 😀 😀 )

Thanks for the review, Sally. I’m a big fan of D Wallace Peach so I will be having a look at this book. The idea of swallowing souls is interesting. It makes me think of cannibals who ate the flesh of dead heroes to absorb their strength. And in face, a lot of religions have a custom of imbibing the Godhead.

    • Great comment, Elizabeth. The book is a bit of a tangent from that idea. Less “horror” and more “ethics” is what I was going for, and the practice is accepted and mostly consensual. 🙂 Thanks so much for swinging by to read Sally’s review!
