A Blogging Hiatus

Right about now, I should be gearing up to post June’s speculative fiction prompt. I had a challenging image ready to go and couldn’t wait for the barrage of wonderful stories and poems.

But once again, my parents’ health challenges are requiring my undivided time.  Recent complications have meant I’m providing almost 24/7 care.  I’m just plain tuckered out, and though prompts and blogging are a major source of fun in my day, I need to step back until things stabilize.

I have a few book reviews to share, and I will visit when I can, but I already know I’ll be scarce, at least for June.

On a lighter note, have a happy, peaceful, creative, and healthy month ahead!

  2. Have just come across your blog, and I hope you had a good June and have managed to get things a little more settled and had a good break. Life can be, as you say, a complete hiatus at times. I’m with you! Katie

  4. Diane, I know how emotionally and physically difficult it is to care for very ill parents, but I know you will never regret caring from them. It is a wonderful thing that you do. All of us will be thinking of you and a healthier outlook for your parents. Hugs!

    • Thank you, Carol. It’s been a hectic spring/summer and looks like I have another month of intensive caregiving before things calm down enough to return to blogging. But I don’t mind. I hope your summer is unfolding beautifully. ❤

    • Thanks for the visit, Kim. I feel a little like I’m missing summer this year, but maybe September will be warm and sunny! I have one more big hurdle related to my parents and then hopefully things will calm down and I’ll be back to blogging. Take care, my friend. ❤

      • Having been there and having done that as my father’s caregiver for two years, I can relate…I missed a lot but in hindsight, there are no regrets, just a bevy of warm memories! Take good care and yes, let’s hope for a warm and sunny September…

    • Thanks so much, Himani. No worries about the busy schedule. I can relate! I appreciate the kind comment and lovely wishes. I hope to be back to blogging relatively soon. Just a couple more hurdles ahead. Have a wonderful couple of weeks left of July, my friend. Be well. ❤

  11. Diane, may the love you give so generously here be returned tenfold to you for your parents. Missing you. Patiently awaiting your return. Every blessing to you and yours.

    • Thanks so much, Kelvin. You caught me at a good time as I’m trying to take a little time today to check in with online friends. I’m thinking that realistically, I’m a month away of easing back into blogging and writing. I need to sleep for a solid week first. 😀 Hope you’re having a wonderful start to summer.
