Rosie’s #Bookreview Team #RBRT THE SORCERER’S GARDEN by @DWallacepeach #Fantasy

While I was taking a break and guzzling cold medicine, a lovely review of The Sorcerer’s Garden showed up on Rosie Amber’s book review blog. The review is compliments of  Suzanne Rogerson. Thank you, Suzanne and Rosie!

I hope you enjoy this review as much as I did:

Today’s team review is from Suzanne, she blogs at Suzanne Rogerson Fantasy AuthorSuzanne has been reading The Sorcerer’s Garden by D Wallace Peach.

My Review

Wow, this was a breath-taking adventure that barely stood still.

I was intrigued by the title and the blurb really stood out for me, anything to do with writing and writers and I’m sold! As I started reading, possibilities whirled through my mind…

The start of the story felt a little over the top in the action sense. I didn’t know what I was getting into, but then I realised this was the start of Cody’s story – his tale of slaying the dragon with his brother. I thought this was very cleverly done by the author. This larger than life action helped to distinguish between Madlyn’s real world and Cody’s work in progress. However, as the story developed everything becomes more complicated for Madalyn and soon the two worlds are colliding and you have no idea what is real and…

Fantastic review I have a list of about 12 blogging friends who I simply HAVE to read this year. You’re on it and it’s a toss up between this one and your white book – bone wall?

    • Hmmmm. First of all, YAY! Woot woot. I made the list! Ha ha.
Oh, the toss up. If you like intense and dark, go with Bone Wall. If you like crazy with lots of action and a little humor, go with Socerer’s Garden. Either way, I hope when you take the plunge, you enjoy 😀

Nothing like a fantastic review to rejuvenate our sense of worthiness as a writer. Well deserved Diana. I so enjoyed that book too. 🙂

    • Thanks so much for taking the time to read. 🙂 It’s a little awkward to share these, but I’m grateful for the lovely review. I’m so glad you like the cover, as I did this one myself. 😀

      • STOP! Don’t think awkward when you share, think acknowledged and acknowledging – back scratching BACK, as it were. I probably speak for the rest of your readers when I say we are thrilled to read posts like this one (and to see your beautiful “hand crafted” cover – which is gorgeous).

I’m sure it helps other writers keep the faith too – i.e., Hey, sometimes reviews DO happen! It also gives many of us a bit more preview of what’s in store once we can finally sit down to read it ourselves.

Congratulations. I love to be reminded that good things happen to good people – especially after reading what the news reporters have for us daily – today especially.

So sorry to hear you are still ill. Coughing at night is miserable! Keeps you up when sleep is much needed to heal. Feel better soon!

        • Okay, Madelyn, I’ll stop! Ha ha. But I’m an introvert who likes to sit by myself and play with my precious laptop and create little stories in my head. Self-promotion goes against the “just move along, don’t mind me” writer’s brain. 😀
Thanks for the cheers, though, and I must admit I love seeing other writers get good reviews, so why not enjoy it. I’ll stop cringing. I promise. 😀

          • Or at least give it a good college try – lol.

Money-grubbing marketing and self-promotion has ruined things for all of the rest of us who aren’t me-me-me focused – introverts and extroverts both – so I get it.

But that’s really NOT what this is – keep that firmly in the front of your mind.

Fantastic review. I’ll bet this made you feel a lot better a lot faster.

    • Ha ha. That would be great, wouldn’t it? The cure for the writer’s cold – just keep the reviews coming. 🙂 I’m getting a little better, Bernadette. Still swigging the old cough syrup at night, but at least sleeping. Another week I’ll be back to normal. Have a cozy day.
