Hi Ruth, well, I’m flattered but must admit that as a blogger, I’m something of a bumbler. I have little idea what I’m doing. That said, I’ve learned a few things…One, stick with it. I’ve been posting every month for well over two years. For the first year, I probably had 6 likes TOTAL. I was blogging into the black hole. Only in the past few months have things started picking up a bit. I post once or twice a month because, yes, it takes time. Is this “good blogging” technique? I have no idea, but it works for me, and I can commit to it. Finally, I have found that followers look for consistency. I was all over the place when I started out (poems, my writing process, how to, updates on books). Of course, I still do a little of each, but I’ve started to focus more on the reflective aspects of what I do. Hope this is helpful. Good luck and enjoy!
