Welcome to my Blog

images (19)Now begins a new venture in writing and I welcome you to come along and see what’s new. I write between 6 and 10 hours a day, 7 days a week if I can, and it amazes me that I am so tongue-tied (finger-tied) when it comes to producing this little paragraph. My imagination is full of wonders, but my life is rather ordinary in the “what I did this weekend” way.

On the other hand, I believe we live in our heads and hearts – that’s the whole premise behind my vision of myths, isn’t it? I live my characters, love with them, cry for them, laugh at their humor. In that way, I lead a pretty exciting life.

I can’t predict what will appear on these pages. Musings, I suppose, about writing, the Oregon wilderness, word-craft, snippets of work in progress, perspectives on growth, compassion and the responsibility that comes with being human.

“He understood what Meriel and Gallard had attempted to tell him long ago about the Way of the Mirror. He had difficulty understanding what they had tried to convey and now he knew why – because one’s Way was derived not from the ideas in one’s head but through the experiences of one’s heart. It arose from the hard choices, the challenges life presented, through faith and sacrifice, through facing fear and choosing Belonging in spite of reason. The World had spun through the gale and emerged starlit and serene. It had tossed him like flotsam on the waves and he had reached the shore. He had found his Way.”

When coming out of an elevator, to those waiting to go in I say: “I’d give it ten minutes if I were you.” But when I go in myself, I ask, “Which way is up?”

  2. I think that’s a wonderful introduction. Boring? No. It’s a fantastic first post. 💖

I know. I can’t be stopped when it comes to writing certain things, but a synopsis and bio the other day…forget about it!

    • No kidding. I’m writing a synopsis right now for a long-long-shot movie deal. You’d think I’d be ramped up about it, but it’s like pulling teeth. When I get blocked, I FORCE myself to write, even if it’s crap. I can always go back and fix it tomorrow. Thanks for the comment and…back to my synopsis (ugh).
